Shakespeare’s England - Behind Closed Doors
Helmdon - Contact:Richard Farquharson (01295 760079).
New ideas and attitudes were changing the public face of Elizabethan society but what was happening behind the closed doors of the family home? What was the Elizabethan’s attitude to family, relationships, old age, sickness, death and superstition? We use Shakespeare’s plays (including Romeo and Juliet, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth, Othello and others) to explore their private lives.
